This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you use swagdetailing.co.uk or buy from us.
Who controls your data
The data controller is WM CLASSICS LTD, The Barn, 173 Church Road, Northfield, Birmingham, B31 2LX, England, company number 11556844. For anything about your data, email wmclassicsltd@gmail.com.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number if you give one, and the details of what you bought.
- When you create an account: your name, email address and the addresses you save.
- When you contact us: your email address and whatever you write to us.
- Automatically: technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, used to keep the site working and secure.
We do not see or store your card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider, on its own systems. If you choose to save your details with Link, Stripe stores them for you under its own privacy policy.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To perform our contract with you — taking payment, dispatching your order, dealing with returns and answering questions about an order.
- To comply with a legal obligation — keeping records of sales and VAT.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the site secure and preventing fraud.
- Your consent — marketing emails, if you ask for them. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — our payment provider, to take and, where needed, refund payment. Stripe also uses payment data to detect and prevent fraud.
- Royal Mail and DPD — the name and address needed to deliver your parcel.
- Anthropic — if you use the Ask SWAG assistant on our site, the question you type is sent to Anthropic, whose AI model writes the answer. Anthropic processes it on our behalf. We do not keep a record of your questions, so please do not include personal details such as your name, address or order number in them.
- Google — our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts and show video thumbnails from YouTube, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when a page loads. A video only starts loading from YouTube when you press play.
- Our web host and website software providers — who store the site and its data on our behalf.
- HMRC and other authorities — where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data sent outside the UK
Anthropic is based in the United States. Transfers to Anthropic are covered by its data processing addendum, which includes the International Data Transfer Addendum issued by the UK Information Commissioner. Google may also process your IP address in the United States under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years after the end of the accounting period they fall in, which is what UK tax law requires. Account data is kept while your account is open. Emails to customer service are kept for up to two years.
Cookies
The site only uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — remembering what is in your basket and keeping you signed in — and stores a small note in your browser so your basket stays up to date between pages. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If you press play on a video, YouTube may set its own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the basket and checkout will not work correctly if you do.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To use any of these rights, email wmclassicsltd@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page.
